Feb. 19th, 2020 03:03 amGotham was chaotic.
Territory wars between the higher villains of the city, the usual crime of theft and murder and god knows what as the everyday scene. Jonathan can certainly say he'd never really be out a job anytime soon and he has certainly seen some of the horrors Gotham's underground can stir up. He jumps around as a bodyguard, mostly for said underground, a dangerous endeavor considering how valuable information is with the highest crime players but a strong moral code keeps him check for not spilling information to the highest bidder and keeping suspicion off his back.
Working for such people means tabs are kept on him and he's given a generous wage to keep him in some of the luxurious apartments the city could offer. High risk, high reward, he'd say.
There was a bit of a secret he's kept from his employers though. A choice to not be held on a tighter leash than he was already.
Which was funny considering he finds himself currently at the wrong place at the wrong time and well...
A drop got a bit out of control, life or death sort of scenario and Jonathan had to shift into his more bestial self to take out the enemy and save as many of his colleagues as he could. A bipedal werewhyena takes his place in the fray and he takes a few hits from a few guys, it doesn't take long to get the situation under control and there are more casualties than he would like.
He's more upset over the fact that he revealed this particular card in deck after so long and he can't shift back considering he completely shredded his outfit in the shift. So he sits on the drop and waits for eventual backup.

She keeps mentioning a 'Bruce' and he's not sure who that is. A partner? A pet? Bruce Wayne? He can't ask in this form.
He's a bit lost in thought that he only caught the words, 'Stray' and 'Owner' then there is the familiar jingle of a collar and he's honestly surprised such a thing fit around his neck. What kind of pet did she have to own one of these in the first place or did she just keep large collars on her person at all times?
Jonathan looks between Harley and the leash attached to the collar and when she tells him to follow her home, he panics. Not that he should be afraid of the Joker's former girlfriend, there is only respect there, but because if he left the drop, it would look like he he abandoned his post and a hit would likely be put on him or immense suspicion that he's a double agent and can't be trusted which he thinks is much worse.
He shakes his head, making a near yelping sound before he looks down on what he's sitting on and patting it. The crate was, as far as he knew, were weapons mostly. Maybe drugs by the smell of it. It was supposed to be given for a large cash payout and well, that turned south very fast if the bodies around him were any consolation.
